Horizon Fitness Racing Team links with Inverse RT
Rapidly expanding UK club Inverse/CyClaim RT has linked with the Horizon Fitness RT to help boost their women’s racing squad. Based predominantly around the London area, Inverse has over 30 members, but is looking to put together a women’s squad with at least 10 riders for 2011.
“The link-up came about over various chats between Inverse/CyClaim RT Manager Andy Saunders and myself. It’s one of the main goals of our team to help take women’s racing in the UK forward. That’s why we put on the first women’s Tour Series race in 2010, and working with teams like this is another way we can help. We’ll be forming links with Inverse to try to help boost their numbers and provide the riders with opportunities they may not otherwise get. For example, training camps/rides and rider development” said Horizon Fitness RT Manager, Stefan Wyman.
“It’s very clear the UK needs more women’s racing teams, with committed riders that are looking to participate in the country's best races, and progress as riders. With new squads coming onto the scene with women’s teams for 2011 like Inverse, the racing standards in the UK are going to be better. Hopefully it will begin a full circle and encourage even greater participation, better race promotions, and a fuller racing calendar in the UK” continued Wyman.
"After our success last year with the men’s team, we felt the time was right to launch not just a women’s race team, but also to promote races in the UK especially for women. We currently have 6 riders in this new squad and we will be working closely with them to develop as riders, to race as a team, and enjoy their racing" explained Inverse/CyClaim RT Manager, Andy Saunders.
"We also have four race promotions in 2011 and each of these will feature a women’s only race. Our website - www.inverseracing.com - shows full information on these exciting new developments for the team."
