What is your background in cycling?

I used to do trampolining at Newport Velodrome and liked the look of riding the track, so I joined Newport Velo Cycling Club, then got picked up by the Welsh Talent Team.

How long have you been involved in the sport, and what was your first event?

5 years now, and my first event was the Welsh Madison Championships.

What would you like to achieve in the next 5 years?

I would love to have a career in cycling, and do well at the Commonwealth Games this year.

What are your strongest points?

I'm determined, and I can switch in and out of focus quickly.

What would you say is your most prized cycling possession?

Definitely my Welsh and National Championship jerseys!

What would you class as your best ride or position to date, and why?

Winning Blackpool Women's Series Criterium last year, because I was off the front in a 2-up break for the whole race, then I got caught with 4 laps to go. I attacked again, and won! Also, the Senior Scratch Race Championships, and Junior Points Race Championships.

Who is your favourite sports person, and why?

I don't have a favourite sports person, but I admire various people for what they have achieved at the Olympics; like Chris Hoy, Jason Kenny, and Steven Burke.

Have you got any advice for any young people thinking of getting involved in cycling?

Have fun and try your best. Train when you want to, and not because someone has told you.

How do you relax after a race?

I like to relax by hanging out with my friends and my boyfriend, going out for food, the cinema, and browsing the web.

Tell us about how it feels to be selected to represent Wales at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi.

I feel very proud and honoured to represent my country this year, and can't wait to compete!
