Sarah Storey to ride for England at the Commonwealth Games

Horizon Fitness Racing Team rider, Sarah Storey, has been chosen to ride the Individual Pursuit for England in the Commonwealth Games which take place in Delhi this October. Sarah will join her two Horizon Fitness team mates, Hannah Rich and Alex Greenfield, who have been chosen to ride for Wales this year. To have three of the Horizon Fitness Racing Team chosen to represent their countries is an absolutely amazing achievement!

An excited Sarah said:

“I’m so excited to be selected for Team England, it’s such an amazing opportunity for me to race the World’s best pursuiters and I can’t wait to get stuck in! Being shortlisted for the Road TT as well is a huge honour, I’ve been working very hard on my road skills this year and so to step up and be in the mix for this event too is a testament to the hard work I’ve put in and also the hard work put in by my team Horizon Fitness to get me up to this level. I can’t thank everyone enough. I’m very excited to race the British Time Trial Championships and try and get selected for that too.”

Sarah becomes the first Paralympian cyclist to be selected for England at the Commonwealth Games.

This news tops off a perfect week for Sarah where she has won two gold medals and become double World Champion. Congratualations to Sarah, Alex and Hannah on their selections!
