Checking in...

By Hannah Rich - Horizon Fitness Racing Team

Very excited to be sat here writing this blog on my new laptop! I've been really busy lately with racing and travelling around the country. The Johnson Health Tech Grand Prix Series has just finished and as a team it went really well. The women's racing in the UK has dramatically changed over the past few years and it's good to see.

The series was good racing and good fun with the girls as started to get to know each other and work well as a team and have some face. The travelling to the races was really tiring! Don't deal well with late nights and early morning so for the 2 weeks I was consequently moody for 90% of the time.

After the series a few of the girls moved onto kalas 2 day which was a men's race down in the farmer's country (Somerset) where we stayed in a caravan. It was good fun but to say we all got a bit close with the 6 of us in there is an understatement! Would have enjoyed the experience a whole lot more if Simpson didn't have a blocked nose the one night and was breathing rather loud so I spent the night on the sofa (not particularly amazing).

The racing there was so hard especially with 3 stages in one day. The day would have been a lot happier if the sun was shining instead of massive showers but we all maned up and got on with the fast racing. I just had to keep telling myself it was good training and it made it all worthwhile.

That's all for now, next adventure is to Newcastle for the nationals this weekend.

Wish me luck,

Hannah
