Halfway there... but still half to go!

By Stefan Wyman - Horizon Fitness Racing Team DS

The first half of the season is done, but there won’t be any relaxing at HFRT towers! We're building very quickly into the 2nd half of the season, and have some huge races and plans.

First we have a couple of weeks training and racing in Belgium - the big benefit of this is the peletons are much bigger and the speed is higher.  We’re mixing the races up a little, with flat and hilly events. These races will lead us into our first professional race which will be the Dwars door de Westhoek. It’s going to be a good chance for us to put ourselves up against strong teams and see how we carry out our race plans into the bigger races.

From there the team will go to Tour Limousin (UCI 2.2) and will be challenging top teams over 4 days. This race will include a 17km Time Trial, which could be interesting to see how Sarah Storey can TT against the best in a Stage Race environment.

After that, the team will be taking part in several post tour criteriums, and we’ll be looking to get some good results there.

This is also the time of the year when we are most active in building our partner connections for the following year, and also working on our rider squad for the following season.

So it’s busy times for us… but very exciting times!
